Down Home Gatherings didn’t start as a business plan, but instead organically turned into one. In a backyard on the morning of a wedding, surrounded by the people and the land that meant everything to us.
This Started As Our Wedding. Now It's Our Calling.
In 2023, my husband Austin and I got married on our family's property in Mineral Wells. I got ready in our first home, and the ceremony and reception took place on my mom's land just across the creek. Every piece of furniture, every place setting, every little detail was sourced, thrifted, and styled by us. And when it was all done — when the tables were set and the candles were lit and the people we loved were gathered around — I knew this was exactly what I wanted to do for other people.
Hi, I'm Rachael — co-owner, designer, and the person who will show up to your gathering and care about it like it is my own
I know what it feels like to want a beautiful, personal event but not have an unlimited budget to pull it off. I know what it feels like to fall in love with a vision on Pinterest and then spend months trying to figure out how to bring it to life. I know the overwhelm. I know the exhaustion. And I know the moment when it all comes together and it is more beautiful than you imagined.
That is the moment I show up to create for you.
Here is why I do what I do:
You should not have to choose between beautiful and affordable.
And because a lifelong passion for design and a perfectionist eye for detail will not let me put something on a table that does not belong there.
I am not a warehouse or a venue with a price list and a parking lot. I am a designer who spent years collecting pieces with character — barnwood tables I built because I could not find them anywhere else, mismatched china sourced from thrift stores and estate sales, vintage goblets that each have their own story. Every single item in our inventory was chosen with intention, because details matter.
This is a family business in every sense of the word. My mom and my husband are beside me at every event, baby Beau is on one of our hips during set up. We built this on faith, on hard work, and on the belief that just because you have big dreams and a smaller budget does not mean you cannot have both.
I have been there — and now I want to be here for you.
Between personal and polished / between the gathering you dreamed of and the gathering you could actually execute. This is exactly the gap Down Home Gatherings was built to close.
